Frequently Asked Questions

Please review this page for any questions you may have. If your question is not in the list provided below, feel free to contact us.

As eBay Certified Application Providers, our server communicates with eBay every 15 minutes. When an auction ends we will have the results in our system within minutes. For major auction houses, results are usually posted within 24 hours of auction end. The final price also includes the auction consignment fee. We now cover Buy it Now (BIN) and Best Offer (BO) auctions on eBay. These will post to the site once the original time stamp set by the seller on eBay expires. If the item sells the first day it is listed on a 7 day listing it won't post until the full time elapses.
The best way is to click on a "Contact Us" which is on every page of the site and we will be emailed your request. If it's a problem and you need guidance in managing your way through the site or help with some features, we will give you an AIM address so we can help you through your problems.
Your My Collection and Want List records will remain in our system. When you decide to upgrade to VIP again, your My Collection records will again display the Value and Net of your cards.
We only track cards that are graded and the grading companies do not grade all cards. We added these to the site so that when you do a player search the list is complete. And in the future when the grading companies start grading that card we will be ready to start adding the prices.
With such a large database and so many images there is bound to be a few errors. If you see a problem, click on "Report a Problem" from the page with the error on it and we will be sent a link to that page with your comment so we can correct the error. "Report a Problem" is located at the bottom of every page. Our goal is to make all the information on this site 100% accurate.
We started collecting final price results for cards (1949 and earlier) in November 2005. After the site became functional along with our auction watching feature, we added the 50's cards back in May 2006. Starting October 2007, we expanded into 1960-1989 and along with baseball we added Boxing, Football, Basketball and Hockey to the database.
After you log in as a Limited member click on the link "Upgrade" located on the user status bar (under the main navigation bar). This will allow you to upgrade to Gold while maintaining the same account.
Some cards are error cards that have the same number and we distinguish this with an "e".
The only person who can see or have access to your account is yourself. Not even the management of this site can take a look into anyones account.
We are on line Monday-Friday From 7:00am to 10:00pm P.S.T. On weekends we check into the site periodically. If you have an AIM account you can reach us at: VCPassist
You can elect to have an email sent alerting you of a new auction that has posted on your card. When adding a card to your collection, you have the option to check a box that turns the alert on. If the card is already in your collection, click "view cards" on the group that your card is in. While viewing the cards in that group, click "edit" on the card you wish to be alerted about. Check the box next to "Alert me on new sales". From then on when a new auction posts for your card, you will be alerted.
Click on "My Account" and click the "Cancel" button. If the button does not appear, notify us via our Contact form.
After cancelling, your account will be converted from VIP to Limited member status after your last month has run out. Your Want List and My Collection data will remain in tact. If you ever want to upgrade to VIP status again in the future you simply click the "Upgrade to VIP" link on your member status bar. If you joined using your PayPal account and not a credit card you would need to cancel it through your own PayPal account. We do not have access to it and can not do it for you. After you cancel there, our system will downgrade your account to Limited after your membership expires.
We ask that you use the most common format for all your listings which is as follows:
Year, Set Name, Card Number, Player Name, Grader, Grade
Auction Title Listing Example:
1960 Topps #200 Willie Mays SGC 88
Following this convention means that our program will handle your listing in the most efficient way possible resulting in more of your auctions being seen by our users via their Want List's and Get it Now listings thus increasing your sales overall. Furthermore, we would appreciate that you call out any PSA cards with qualifiers to promote an honest marketplace and boost consumer confidence overall.
Some email applications and/or email providers may see the email alerts as spam. Make sure to add our email address to your allowed list of senders: "VintageCardPrices" and "NoReply@vintagecardprices.com" You should always check your VCP private message inbox because we will tell you if emails are bouncing and give you instructions to change to another email or notify your provider of the problem.
While you are logged in, go to My Account and click Update Email or click here to change your Email address.
We do not have set whole values because it is rare that you can buy an entire set all graded with the same grade. What you can do though to get a price is simple and just follow these steps. 1. Search for the set and once found click on "Add set to my collection". 2. Create a group. 3. In the top red line is a global add for the set, enter 1 for price then choose the rest, click apply. The information will fill in for the whole set. 4. All of our sets are master and include all variations so make sure to edit them before clicking on add at the very bottom. 5. Now the set is in your collection with the values that you choose. Important the cost is 1 x the number of cards in the set, and should equal the "Total Cost". If they are not the same it means there is some cards that we have no record sales for in that grade. So check for the missing cards and adjust your price.

The system is set up so that only one user may access the account. You will be logged off if somebody is using your account concurrently with you. If you are an AOL user, we recommend that you use the Chrome or Firefox web browser.
If you joined after July 2007, you can click on "My Account" and click the "Update Credit Card" button. You need to update your information before the next charge. If you update after the charge attempt failed the system will not automatically charge you and upgrade you back to VIP status. If this is the case you need to log in and click on "Upgrade to VIP" or the "Sign Up" button and follow the screen prompts. PayPal users must login to their PayPal account and adjust accordingly.
Log in to the web site and click "Sign Up" or go to My Account and click "Upgrade My Membership". You will not be signing up to a new account, you will be reactivating your pricing access and recurred billing.

Yes we started tracking these sales in January of 2008. When you are on the page with the prices there is a Listing Type box with the following choices: All, Auction, BIN and Best Offer. If it is set at Auction you will not see the BIN's and BO's. So check your settings to see all auctions if you would like.
